Law Development
Kitselas has the authority to create laws that are constitutionally protected on a number of different topics related to land management. Law Making Procedures are outlined in Section 7 of the Kitselas Reserve Land Management Act, K.B.C. 2005-01. Under this authority, Kitselas is engaged in developing a number of new laws. Please see the Laws in Process Chart
Kitselas Lands Management Office Hired 5 Youth
Kitselas Lands Management Office recently hired 5 Kitselas Youth! The Kitselas Lands Youth Workers will be carrying out a number of house-to-house business items on behalf of the Kitselas Lands Management Office. The Youth are a much needed help in order to engage Kitselas residents in a more meaningful conversation about the activities in the Lands Office. This work will result in a list of environmental priorities identified by the community and others. The Youth are a great part of building capacity within the Kitselas community.
Kitselas Dog Control By-Law
Kitselas was approached by the Regional District of Kitimat Stikine (RDKS) with a new proposal on dog control services. There have been four meetings on this topic to see whether or not the dog by-law will be supported by the community before moving forward. The by-law deals with noisy, loose and dangerous dog. Kitselas residents who own dogs would be required to purchase dog tags and could possibly face fines should their dog be noisy, loose or dangerous. The Lands Youth Workers are bringing the by-law house-to-house in order to see if the community supports Council moving forward.
IR 6 Kulspai Survey

Old Kitselas Graveyard Clean-Up
The Lands Management Office will be hiring workers from the community to clean up the Old Graveyard in Endudoon. If you're interested in this type of work, please start tidying up your resumes for May, 2012.
ROW Road Closures
Kitselas is actively engaged in having old sections of the Old Highway #16 returned to Kitselas Reserve Lands. This is a very long process which must follow INAC land management processes as land is to be returned to Canada from the Province of British Columbia and subsequently to Kitselas. The Lands Management Office is responsible for ensuring the administrative processes are followed.
