Kitselas' Housing Department is responsible for accessing funding for new houses, repairs and renovations; managing home construction; and meeting reporting requirements for Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
From 2005 -2011, Kitselas Band built 63 new homes. Because of this, we have been able to bring approximately 252 band members home. We are working hard to ensure that we address any problems as quickly as possible (i.e. funding, construction, repairs, arrears etc.). Currently, we have houses on Kulspai Cres., Gitaus, Endadoon, and Chimdimash. And we are looking forward to building more new homes for our Kitselas people.
